A World of Beads is excited to offer permanent jewelry!
What is Permanent Jewelry? Permanent jewelry is a delicate piece of jewelry (typically a bracelet, anklet, or necklace) that does not have a traditional clasp, so it cannot be easily removed. Instead, the ends of the jewelry are welded together while you’re wearing them, creating a seamless look. It’s attached by laser-welding a small ring to chain. We have quality sterling silver, 14K gold-filled, and 14K rose gold-filled chains to select from.
Why Would I Want Permanent Jewelry It’s a fun experience – come with a group of friends, and make it a party! This is custom jewelry made just for you – you select the chain, and we ensure that it’s the perfect size. You’re getting a high-quality product that’s sure to last a very long time!
Does Permanent Jewelry Hurt to Attach? Absolutely not! The welder is a small zap, and your arm or ankle is protected by a piece of leather between your chain and wrist.
What if I Want to Take my Bracelet/Anklet Off? If permanent jewelry isn’t for you, we can attach a clasp to any of the chains for easy removal. If you need to have your permanent jewelry removed for an MRI, we can cut it off and re-weld after your procedure.
How Old Does One Have to Be? Anybody age ten and older can get a permanent bracelet. Everyone under 14 must be accompanied by a parent who must sign a consent form. What Costs Can I Expect? This depends on the chain you select. The starting price is $23 for a bracelet (add $5 for an anklet) and goes up depending on the chain. We also have charms that can be added for an additional fee.
How Long Does it Take? Expect ten to fifteen minutes per person.
Do I Need to Make an Appointment? Yes! We need to make sure someone trained to use the equipment is in the shop. Call or email us to get on the schedule.
Who Should Not Get Permanent Jewelry? Allergies to sterling silver and gold fill are rare, but those with allergies should not get permanent jewelry.
