Sunday, June 29 - Art of Silversmithing – Make Your Own Sterling Pendant
Create your own sterling silver gemstone pendant! This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to learn or refresh their skills in silversmithing for jewelry-making. Beginners and advanced students alike will grow knowledge and develop skills. Each student will be guided through the step-by-step process of creating a sterling silver bezel around a gemstone cabochon (a gemstone that has been shaped and polished).
Skills covered include cutting, shaping, filing, texture-hammering, torch-soldering, and cabochon bezel-setting. This fun and interactive workshop includes frequent demonstrations and hands-on practice, after which you will take home your finished, handmade pendant!
Students may bring their own cabochons or purchase one at class time. Please note that due to class constraints, the instructor must approve any cabochons brought from home (please bring more than one in case one is not size-appropriate for the allotted class time)
Workshop tools are provided. Additional metal, stones, and tool kits will be available for purchase after the workshop.

* Wear old clothing or an apron, and wear long hair up.
* A signed safety waiver is required at workshop time.
